Background:

Michael Hagan is a Sig Sauer Certified Master Rifle Instructor, Sig Sauer Certified Patrol Rifle Instructor, Sig Sauer Certified Armorer, and an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer. Michael is a competitive shooter and hunter. Michael has worked for the City of Keene since 2001. He is an active board member of the Cheshire County Shooting Sports Education Foundation. He is also President of the Cheshire County Fish & Game Club. Michael is also an active member of the NRA and a Life Member of Pro Gun New Hampshire.

Disciplines:

Basic Rifle: This course focuses on range exercises to develop rifle handling, manipulation, marksmanship, and maintenance.

Defensive Rifle: All aspects of defensive rifle shooting from near to far are addressed. Students gain the skills of practical defensive shooting scenarios as well as the knowledge required to select a defensive rifle and support equipment.

  • Responsible firearms ownership and defensive applications of the rifle and carbine
  • Firearms safety that works – in the home, workplace, vehicle, in training, and in carry
  • Selection of a defensive shoulder weapon and accessories
  • Selection of defensive and training ammunition
  • Administrative loading and unloading
  • Zeroing and precision shooting
  • Basic shooting techniques – defensive rifle fundamentals
  • Reloading techniques
  • Tactical immediate action
  • Ready and carry positions
  • Shooting positions
  • Multiple shot techniques
  • Identification and engagement of multiple opponents
  • Shooting while moving and utilization
  • Identification and utilization of cover
  • Transitions to handgun
  • Preventative maintenance session – cleaning, maintenance, inspection, and safe storage

Advanced Defensive Rifle: Designed to transition the student from static live fire and basic movement to advanced defensive tactics using the modern rifle, this course pushes students to the highest levels. Each student will leave with the knowledge, skills, and ability to survive and prevail in a deadly force encounter.

  • Close quarter rifle operations
  • Bilateral rifle manipulations

Skill Builder Rifle: This course will formulate an agenda and course of fire based on the needs of the students, drills and techniques will include:

  • Rifle/carbine carry and presentation
  • Fundamental marksmanship
  • Shooting while moving
  • Alternative shooting positions
  • Immediate action
  • Reloading
  • Multiple target engagement
  • And more …

Patrol Rifle/ Pistol: This course is designed for the Armed Professionals Security, LE, and Military, areas of concentration include tactical marksmanship and shooter development.

  • Fundamentals of both tactical and precision shooting
  • Proper zeroing procedures for law enforcement and urban applications
  • Techniques for loading, reloading, stoppage clearance, and unloading
  • Multiple techniques for transition from rifle to pistol
  • Tactical movement techniques (pivots and turns, moving linear/lateral/diagonal)
  • Selection and utilization of cover and concealment
  • Courses of fire with induced stress or special situations
  • Close quarters battle techniques and extreme close quarters shooting techniques
  • Emergency function techniques (one handed/disabled methods, shooting and reloading)
